All type of Beauty / Skin Care

To Like or Nor To Like?

When Gwyneth Paltrow, or Goop, decided to launch a line of beauty products by Juice Beauty, I was so excited to get my hands on them that I didn’t wait long. Usually, I gift myself with things like these on special occasions, so this time I used my birthday as an excuse 🙂 to treat myself with the “discovery set”.IMG_0466

I have posted before about their exfoliant mask, which is amazing. I love it. However, I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of these two products: Face Oil and Day Moisturizer. Even though they do feel good on my skin they have not gotten me hooked yet.  To be honest, I use products in my daily skin care routine that I love very very much, so it’s difficult for me to raise the bar. ( If you follow my blog, you probably know by now that I use Active Argan Oil and Nerium products). It’s not that I disliked Goop’s oil or moisturizer, but I was not blown away by them either. I saw no changes in my skin (probably because I have only been able to test the products for a short period of time, given that I only purchased the Discovery Set, which comes with travel sizes).  However, what I like about the product is:

  • They are mostly organic
  • They are made with high quality organic ingredients such as vitamins B and C, jojoba oil, etc.
  • Detailed labeling
  • Eco-friendly containers

The daily moisturizer is OK. It’s no magic potion, but it does leave my skin smooth and hydrated. For me, the deal breaker is that it has no SPF in it. I like when moisturizers make my life easier, in a one step routine and not two, like this one.

When it comes to beauty products, I either  love them or I don’t, so I won’t be re purchasing these two products again. However, I have to say that Paltrow’s initiative to make clean, organic products and to clearly label the ingredients, is a wonderful one task that not many brands take on.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried these products?

Happy weekend.
